McGlashan to rock Wanaka

Don McGlashan will play at Wanakafest this year, the first time a musical act will be part of the Labour weekend festival. Also new this year is an Airbag Freedrop in the Urban downhill mountainbike race, a Ruby Ridge trolley derby event and a Puzzling World imagination station, including bubbles, magic, stilt walkers and balloon making. Old favourites Passion for Fashion, the street parade, polar plunge and duck race will return.

Challenge charity...

Challenge Wanaka has announced a three-year charity partnership with Cystic Fibrosis NZ. Cystic fibrosis is New Zealand’s most common genetic condition and leads to serious deterioration in the lungs and a shortened life. Funds raised through Challenge Wanaka will be given to people with the condition to participate in sport and physical exercise.

...and partnership

Accommodation and Reservations Wanaka will be the volunteers’ sponsor for Challenge Wanaka next year. About 600 volunteers are required to make the event happen. More than 2000 athletes take part in the week long event with the flagship long distance triathlon taking place on January 18.
