Step back in time with Como Villa

Central Otago Mirror - - FEATURES -

To step through the doors of the Como Villa wine tasting venue at 266 Earnscleugh Road is to walk back in time. In days gone by, this destination was the site of one of the original vineyards of Central Otago but today it is ‘home’ to a selection of wines including Gewu¨ rztraminer, Reisling, Savignon Blanc, Rose´ and award-winning Pinot Noir. Como Villa’s wine tasting venue makes a unique destination for a Christmas function. Built in 1865, this lovingly restored house, takes visitors and wine tasters back into the past. Make this your destination for an end of year celebration: challenge others on the putting green, try your hand at darts, explore the museum of old artefacts which have been either found on the property or purchased to suit real old times, sample the wines available and learn about the different methods used to make them. Hear about the days when a vineyard was first established on this site and Como Villa was a six-roomed stone house with stable and dairy. And learn about the plans owners Johnny and Pam Chapman have for the future. Visitors are welcome to organise their own food supplies and to bring them along as they celebrate. Johnny and Pam look forward to welcoming you to Como Villa and to sharing their vision with you. Check them out at or email at info@co or phone (03) 449 2265.
