Rhythm and Alps or­gan­is­ers have added 16 acts to the 2013 New Year’s fes­ti­val. Ex­pats The Veils, Zane Lowe and Nathan Haines will be home for the fes­ti­val and fur­ther line-up ad­di­tions are Fred­die Cruger, Spikey Tee, Ruse, Lewis Ten­ant, Steezie Won­der, Sticky Fingaz, Play DJs (R.I.A and C:She), Seth Hamil­ton and Holly Ar­row­smith.

Slip meet­ings

New Zealand Trans­port Agency resched­uled Makarora and Wanaka com­mu­nity and tourism in­dus­try meet­ings will be held tomorrow to dis­cuss con­cerns about clos­ing State High­way 6 be­tween Haast and Makarora, and raise ideas about im­prov­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tion. The Makarora meet­ing will be from 1.30pm at the Makarora Tourist Cen­tre and from 4.30pm in Wanaka at Edge­wa­ter Re­sort.

Sidey for trust

Re­tir­ing Cen­tral Lakes Trust chair­man Sir Eion Edgar is pub­licly en­dors­ing Wanaka busi­ness­man Michael Sidey as a can­di­date for the trust. A Wanaka res­i­dent for three years, Mr Sidey is deputy chair­man of Forsyth Barr and a Hal­berg Dis­abil­ity Sport Foun­da­tion di­rec­tor.
