4G in Ar­row­town

Voda­fone launched 4G in Ar­row­town last week and claims the mo­bile phone net­work tech­nol­ogy is con­sid­ered the world’s fastest com­mer­cially avail­able.

Sole share­holder

Queen­stown de­vel­oper John Darby has be­come the sole share­holder of the Am­is­field Wine Com­pany af­ter buy­ing out the other share­hold­ers. He was pre­vi­ously ma­jor­ity share­holder at the com­pany which was founded in 1988 and known orig­i­nally as Lake Hayes Wines.

Top tast­ings

Wanaka’s Rip­pon win­ery and Cen­tral Otago’s Fel­ton Road were two of only three New Zealand winer­ies in­cluded in the pres­ti­gious United States-based Wines and Spirit mag­a­zine’s Top 100 tast­ings. The third was Marl­bor­ough’s Saint Clair.

Celtic Thun­der

Ir­ish su­per-group Celtic Thun­der will per­form in Queen­stown on May 8. The six male soloists will per­form solo and en­sem­ble num­bers rang­ing from tra­di­tional Ir­ish fare to in­ter­na­tional hits such as The Boys are Back in Town and The Sound of Si­lence. Tick­ets at tick­etek.co.nz
