4G in Arrowtown
Vodafone launched 4G in Arrowtown last week and claims the mobile phone network technology is considered the world’s fastest commercially available.
Queenstown developer John Darby has become the sole shareholder of the Amisfield Wine Company after buying out the other shareholders. He was previously majority shareholder at the company which was founded in 1988 and known originally as Lake Hayes Wines.
Wanaka’s Rippon winery and Central Otago’s Felton Road were two of only three New Zealand wineries included in the prestigious United States-based Wines and Spirit magazine’s Top 100 tastings. The third was Marlborough’s Saint Clair.
Irish super-group Celtic Thunder will perform in Queenstown on May 8. The six male soloists will perform solo and ensemble numbers ranging from traditional Irish fare to international hits such as The Boys are Back in Town and The Sound of Silence. Tickets at ticketek.co.nz
