Touch player to play for Otago

Cromwell touch rugby player Matt Bolch, pic­tured, has been se­lected in the Otago un­der-17 touch rugby team. The 15-yearold made the team af­ter tri­als in Mos­giel. The team is made up of play­ers from Oa­maru, Mil­ton, Mos­giel and Dunedin and will play in three tour­na­ments over the next few weeks as part of the South Is­land in­ter­provin­cial se­ries.

Jump Jam­mers off to na­tion­als

Three Cen­tral Otago and Queen­stown-Lakes jump jam teams will be com­pet­ing in the na­tional jump jam cham­pi­onships in Auck­land this weekend. Cromwell Col­lege, Re­mark­ables Pri­mary School and Gold­fields Pri­mary School will all have teams com­pet­ing, while Emily White, who is part of the Cromwell Col­lege team, will also com­pete in the in­di­vid­ual com­pe­ti­tion.

Mo­tat­apu bike race fills in record time

En­tries for next year’s Mo­tat­apu moun­tain­bike race have closed, with the 2000 spa­ces avail­able filled in record time. The 47km bike event starts at Glendhu Bay and fin­ishes at Ar­row­town, travers­ing the Mo­tat­apu, Soho and Glen­coe Sta­tions along the way. The event will be held on March 8, and any­one still want­ing to en­ter can email info@mo­tat­ to be added to the wait­ing list.
