The Wanaka Community Board are not able to go ahead with a proposed idea to hold meetings in towns across the district in a bid to reach a wider demographic of the public. At a board meeting, held in Wanaka last week, chairwoman Rachel Brown said there were to many conflicts for the idea to go ahead. However, when the board adopted its meeting schedule last week it was voted that meetings would continue to be held on Tuesdays each month at the Lake Wanaka Centre. The only change was the time of the meetings, which was moved from 9.30am to 10am. The board may make visits to certain areas if large issues arise.
