Dancer joins golfers

Dancer and chore­og­ra­pher Cris Judd will be a celebrity player at the 2014 NZ Open at Ar­row­town in Fe­bru­ary. He re­cently ap­peared on New Zealand tele­vi­sion screen as a judge on New Zealand’s Got Tal­ent with Rachel Hunter and Ja­son Ker­ri­son. He has worked along­side celebri­ties in­clud­ing Michael Jack­son, Ce­line Dion, Ni­cole Kid­man and Jen­nifer Lopez who he was briefly mar­ried to. He has played top level golf and con­sid­ered a ca­reer in pro­fes­sional golf be­fore his danc­ing ca­reer took off. He will travel with wife Kelly and new­born daugh­ter Vivi­enne.

Colour­ful US Cham­pi­ons Tour player Rocco Me­di­ate is join­ing the field at the New Zealand Open at Ar­row­town in Fe­bru­ary. Best known for his play-off loss to Tiger Woods in the 2008 US Open at Tor­rey Pines GC, he was awarded the ‘‘rookie of the year’’ ti­tle for his first year on the Cham­pi­ons Tour in 2013. He has ca­reer earn­ings of $US16.6m, hav­ing won six times on the PGA Tour and twice on the Cham­pi­ons Tour.
