Mu­sic fes­ti­val should be rip­per

With only days un­til Wanaka’s Rip­pon Fes­ti­val, tick­ets are be­ing snapped up but gen­eral ad­mis­sion tick­ets are avail­able to buy. Fes­ti­val di­rec­tor Lynne Christie said ticket sales were ‘‘hum­ming along nicely’’ with Gold­mem­ber and Gazebo tick­ets sold out. Or­gan­is­ers were thank­ful to see the weather for Satur­day was look­ing good. ‘‘It’s look­ing lovely. It’s nice to see it’s look­ing more set­tled,’’ Ms Christie said. The fes­ti­val, in its 10th year, boosts a mu­sic line up fea­tur­ing Elec­tric Wire Hus­tle, Home­Brew, Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Phoenix Foun­da­tion, Ladi6, Die!Die!Die!, Kody Niel­son, Brock­aflow­er­saurus-Rex, Myele Man­zanza, The Digg, Some Other Plan­ets and Estere. Spe­cial guests P Digsss, KPz, Ria Hall, Sun­shine Sound Sys­tem, DJ Reno, Anika Moa and Peace­keep­ers com­plete the mix.
