If you have ever wanted to see sumo wrestlers fight then the Junior Upper Clutha Rugby Club fundraiser event could be your ticket. A Sumo ‘‘Fun’’ Raiser event will be held on February 22 to raise funds for clubs under 12 and 13 Mosman Tour to Australia in April. Fundraising committee mem- ber Kylie Arnesen said local and national personalities have been invited to take part in the event but remained tight-lipped on who they might be. ‘‘We’ve got a few surprises up our sleeve. It’s going to be hilarious’’ she said. The team of 30 need to raise $100,000 for the trip and while they were in Australia they would play four games. It was a tradition for the Sydney-based Mosman rugby team to come to New Zealand for the tour and this was the second time the juniors from the Wanaka-based club would head over the ditch. Anna van Riel will entertain at the evening.
