Great expectations

Central Otago Mirror - - WANAKA FEATURES -

Aswe all know the weather has been far from glorious for this time of the year. Despite that I dragged myself out one evening for a walk on the Kelvin Heights Track. I came across a guy walking some kind of mixed breed terrier and had a chat. He was a friendly and pleasant chap. It made the walk worthwhile. I shall keep a look out of for him again. In the meantime another friend is torn about a guy she met over Christmas at a mate’s barbecue. I’m not sure what surprises me most – a sunny day in Queenstown or that she met a potential date there knowing the host and his meathead Holdenobsessed friends. Anyway, she really likes this guy. But dare I say it; she announced he’s just not intelligent enough for her. It’s a harsh call. Apparently he’s great in many ways but not in the brains department. I’ve stuck in my 10 cents worth – ditch him now to save heartbreak and angst further down the track. Let’s face it, once the initial ‘‘new man’’ excitement has worn off, one really wants someone capable of a decent conversation. An article I read concluded that 8 out of 10 is good enough in a relationship. I like to think I wouldn’t settle for less than 10 out of 10 but that’s probably why I’m still single! ◗ Queenstown’s Single Girl is looking for true love. Advice and potential candidates should be emailed to mirror@stl.co.nz
