Lo­cal ten­nis star Riki McLach­lan had a com­fort­able vic­tory in the men’s sin­gles at the Queen­stown Open on the weekend beat­ing Miki Nobuzama 6-1, 6-0 in the fi­nals. How­ever, the pair were out­played by coaches Mark Mil­burn and Lan Bale, 7-6, 6-1 for the dou­bles. Emilia Price, 13, won her first Queen­stown Open sin­gles ti­tle beat­ing the ex­pe­ri­enced Felic­ity Oxnevad 6-2, 6-4, but Oxnevad got her re­venge in the dou­bles with part­ner Karen Mitchell beat­ing Price and Teresa Chap­man 6-4, 6-4.
