Ar­rest af­ter abus­ing po­lice

A 41-year-old Wanaka man was ar­rested and charged with dis­or­derly be­hav­iour af­ter he took of­fence to be­ing stopped at a drinkdrive check­point in Wanaka on Thurs­day night.

Wanaka sub-area com­man­der Se­nior Sergeant Al­lan Grindell said the man drove up to the check point at speed and was pulled out of the car and re­strained by po­lice af­ter he be­came abu­sive and tried to lock the doors of his car.

The man was ex­pected to ap­pear in the Queen­stown District Court on June 16.
