Central Otago Mirror - - SPORT -

Canterbury Red Devils ice hockey player Hayden Argyle’s disciplinary decision, after knocking out Southern Stampede star Matt Schneider, was expected this week.

Argyle punched Schneider in the face as they tussled at the Red Devils goal in the fixture two weeks ago.

Schneider was taken to hospital but was discharged and was making a good recovery.

While Argyle had already been given an automatic two-game suspension the disciplinary tribunal could decide further punishment was warranted.

It was hoped Schneider would be back on the ice for the Stampede’s first home game against the Dunedin Thunder on Saturday night.
