Hi tech in golf carts

Golfing at Millbrook has had a hi tech-upgrade with the introduction of a cloud-cased GPS system aimed at enhancing the game and providing safety features for management.

The Golf Pilot system, created by GPS Systems International, was recently installed in the resort’s fleet of 50 golf carts, and while tracking each cart, links each one to the resort’s Pro Shop.

The system highlights no-go areas, shows protips on how best to play the hole and players can measure the distance to any point of interest including bunkers and the pin on the green.

Millbrook Resort head of golf Brian Spicer said the system was an exciting development.

‘‘We’re always looking at creative ways of being innovative and Golf Pilot is a great system that takes Millbrook to another level technology wise.’
