The 2014 Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow was an event not to forget and those wanting a lasting memento can get their hands on the show’s official book and DVD.

Upper Clutha writer Jill Herron said putting together the record of the show was not without its problems.

Sifting through thousands of photographs and choosing the photos to leave out proved to be difficult but she was able to narrow down the final selection to 158 snaps.

This year’s book will have more variety than past books with the addition of new events to the show’s format, including the Gigatown Wanaka Jet Racing and the World War I commemoration dogfight on the lakefront.

Warbirds event manager Mandy Deans said for the first time in a long time the book was a collaboration of local effort which continued with the official DVD.

Wanaka TV owner Antony Hansen said after shooting stills at the past eight airshows it was the icing on the cake to shoot the official DVD.

The book and DVD were available online at warbirdsoverwanaka.com, from the Warbirds and Wheels retail shop at the Wanaka Airport, Paper Plus Wanaka and Cromwell and Whitcoulls’ two Queenstown stores.

The book will also be available at selected Whitcoulls stores across New Zealand in the next few weeks.
