Expert to talk investment in Indonesia
Jakarta-based business and political analyst Douglas Ramage will speak in Queenstown about the politics and economics of ‘‘the new Indonesia’’.
Ramage has more than 25 years’ experience in Indonesia, advising Fortune 500 companies and has been both governance and politics adviser to the World Bank and Australian government development programmes.
He will speak as a guest of the Catalyst Trust on Monday, from 5.30pm at The Rees Hotel.
After a decade of political and economic development, Indonesia is now characterised by a large middle class, a dynamic free press and very high consumer confidence.
‘‘However, an atmosphere of economic nationalism has taken hold in the run-up to the nation’s presidential election.’’
His presentation will provide an overview of Indonesia’s growth and potential, explain the outcome and ramifications of the presidential election, and outline the key risks and opportunities in Indonesia in coming years. ◗ Reserve a seat on email@example.com ◗ Tickets are a $10 donation to Catalyst. ◗ Get more info on thecatalysttrust.org.
