Ice carve win­ners

The win­ners of the 2014 Tre­ble Cone Ice Carv­ing Com­pe­ti­tion were Nemo, by Shaun Brown, fol­lowed by A Min­ion, by Lucy Wa­ters. Hon­ourable men­tions went to Ker­mit, by Lisa Bate, and Olaf, by Cal­lum Gibson. Com­peti­tors were given a weekend and a block of ice to cre­ate their Dis­neythemed won­ders.

Top tip­ples in Queen­stown

Three Queen­stown restaurants, Gant­ley’s, The Mill­house at Millbrook Re­sort and True South at The Rees, have been given ex­cel­lent rat­ings by a New York-based mag­a­zine for their wine lists. Gant­ley’s som­me­lier and coowner Brent Rands said main­tain­ing a wine list that met the strict cri­te­ria of Wine Spec­ta­tor mag­a­zine awards pro­gramme re­quired sig­nif­i­cant com­mit­ment.
