Arrowtown sets sights on finals
Arrowtown and the Maniototo will face off in the finals of the Central Otago premier rugby competition in Cromwell this weekend.
It took a mud bath and three periods of extra time for Arrowtown to finally secure a 16-13 win over Wakatipu in their semi-final on Saturday.
Arrowtown have only dropped one game in the competition and that was the White Horse Cup match against the Maniototo team aweek earlier.
Now they will face off again after Maniototo beat ClydeEarnscleugh 18-5.
In the bottom five competition Matakanui Combined beat Wakatipu Wanderers 13-8 and Roxburgh beat Upper Clutha B 13-5 and the winning teams will face each other in the finals day at Cromwell on Saturday.
The feature game between Arrowtown and Maniototo kicks off at 2.30pm.
The winner of this week’s final competes in the country-wide final a week later.
