Ar­row­town sets sights on fi­nals

Ar­row­town and the Man­iototo will face off in the fi­nals of the Cen­tral Otago pre­mier rugby com­pe­ti­tion in Cromwell this week­end.

It took a mud bath and three pe­ri­ods of ex­tra time for Ar­row­town to fi­nally se­cure a 16-13 win over Wakatipu in their semi-fi­nal on Satur­day.

Ar­row­town have only dropped one game in the com­pe­ti­tion and that was the White Horse Cup match against the Man­iototo team aweek ear­lier.

Now they will face off again af­ter Man­iototo beat Cly­deEarn­scle­ugh 18-5.

In the bot­tom five com­pe­ti­tion Matakanui Com­bined beat Wakatipu Wan­der­ers 13-8 and Roxburgh beat Up­per Clutha B 13-5 and the win­ning teams will face each other in the fi­nals day at Cromwell on Satur­day.

The fea­ture game be­tween Ar­row­town and Man­iototo kicks off at 2.30pm.

The win­ner of this week’s fi­nal com­petes in the coun­try-wide fi­nal a week later.
