Adap­tive skier earns pass

NZSki chief ex­ec­u­tive Paul An­der­son presents Queen­stown man David Carter with a 2015 sea­son pass after his mam­moth ski from the top to the bot­tom of the ski field. Carter, who is paral­ysed on one side, took four-an-a-half hours to com­plete the run on the moun­tain where the ac­ci­dent lead­ing to his in­jury oc­curred nine years ago. Also with him is Ross James of the NZSki Adap­tive Ski Pro­gramme.

Artist vis­its school

Ar­row­town School pupils Fi­neen Hingston, Zoe Waggett and Marigold Ku­nath work­ing with artist Dei­dre Copeland last week. The school’s Gifted and Tal­ented Pro­gramme has been run­ning an art ex­ten­sion this term. High­lights were work­ing with lo­cal artist Brid­get Paape on paint­ing Ar­row­town cot­tages and with Copeland, of Cromwell, on sketch­ing tech­niques and draw­ing hands.
