Adaptive skier earns pass
NZSki chief executive Paul Anderson presents Queenstown man David Carter with a 2015 season pass after his mammoth ski from the top to the bottom of the ski field. Carter, who is paralysed on one side, took four-an-a-half hours to complete the run on the mountain where the accident leading to his injury occurred nine years ago. Also with him is Ross James of the NZSki Adaptive Ski Programme.
Artist visits school
Arrowtown School pupils Fineen Hingston, Zoe Waggett and Marigold Kunath working with artist Deidre Copeland last week. The school’s Gifted and Talented Programme has been running an art extension this term. Highlights were working with local artist Bridget Paape on painting Arrowtown cottages and with Copeland, of Cromwell, on sketching techniques and drawing hands.
