Third in the world
Queenstown mountain biker Erin Greene was third in the Elite World 24 Hour Championships held in Scotland on the weekend. A three-time New Zealand cross country champion and Coronet Peak ski patroller, her previous highest placing in the world 24-hour champs has been fifth. She shared the podium with to current National Cyclocross champ Kim Hurst and second placegetter Rickie Cotter, of Great Britain. Greene told Facebook friends she was stoked with her placing and lucky to have top support crew,
including partner Tom Lamb.
Puck to drop
The Southern Stampede are taking taking on the New Zealand National Men’s team, the Ice Blacks, in a two game exhibition series on Friday and Saturday. The same match up last season drew sell-out crowds for both games. Tickets are available from southernstampede.co.nz.
