Inkster rows to world champ ti­tle

The team stormed the first 500m in just un­der 1min 56secs and fin­ished with a seven seconds lead over the sec­ond-placed Aus­tralian team.

Tour de Wakatipu gains new spon­sor

The Tour de Wakatipu, one of the big­gest mass par­tic­i­pa­tion cy­cling events in the South Is­land and part of the Queen­stown Bike Fes­ti­val, has a new spon­sor for next year. Out­door cloth­ing and footwear company Mer­rell will take over the spon­sor­ship of the event from long-time sup­porter New World Wakatipu. Mer­rell New Zealand distrib­u­tor, Ne­vada Sport man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Hamish Cochran said the move was a log­i­cal step after the brand’s long as­so­ci­a­tion with the tour.
