Wanaka’s four ath­letes at the World Xterra Cham­pi­onships in Hawaii are all re­turn­ing home with top 10 places. De­fend­ing world cham­pion Nicky Sa­muels, 31, was third in the elite women’s cat­e­gory. In the age group cat­e­gories were Mike John­ston (6th in men’s 45-49), An­drew McLeod (10th in men’s 55-59) and Fiona Reid (8th in women’s 45-49).

Per­fect com­pe­ti­tion

The Per­fect Woman 2014 com­pe­ti­tion has once again sent many peo­ple home happy. The win­ner was Gore woman KJ NcNoe. Tau­marunui’s Jus­tine Black­burn was sec­ond and lo­cal woman Jo Ward tied for third with Olivia Ross from Bal­four. Wanaka woman Lisa Murphy was the most val­ued player.
