Central Otago Mirror - - NEWS -

Queenstown-based caterers Flying Trestles are thrilled to have their first go at catering the BMWNZ Golf Open this year.

Managing director David Arnold said the company had pitched for the job the previous two years and were excited to finally get their chance.

They would be providing catering in the Champions Lounge, Players Lounge, on the ‘tees’ at The Hills and Millbrook and in the media centre. Also they would cater the briefing, tournament party, amateur prizegiving party and volunteers barbecue.

They hope to be providing their services in the long term and showcasing their food at the event.

Arnold said they would be providing a slightly different style of food, including a market kitchen style of food in the Champions Lounge.

That would include sliders, salad boxes, sushi, cakes and pastries and wraps.

‘‘Not just any wrap I might add . . . chilli chicken, coriander mayo and chutney; gorgonzola, balsamic pear and walnut and grilled Mediterranean vegetables with salsa Verde and aioli, to name a few.’’

The menu would be changed daily and freshly made.

They have been involved in commercials for Speight's, Heineken, Jeep and Coca Cola ad catered TRENZ and for the Highlands Motorsport Park.

In the lead up the team were extremely busy trying to organise things for all areas from staff to logistics, but very excited.

‘‘We are feeling good and have things under control and can’t wait to be part of it all.’’
