QLDC asked to pay Central Otago Health
The Queenstown Lakes District Council has been asked to contribute 20 per cent of the administration costs for the organisation that runs Dunstan Hospital.
In a submission to the council’s 10 Year Plan Dick Kane, on behalf of Central Otago Health Incorporated, has requested funding of $1514 to $1540.
The Central Otago District Council paid $7100 of the administration costs of $7572 in the past, he said.
‘‘It has been felt for a number of years that QLDC should have been paying their share of the cost for the administration.’’
There was a long history of involvement between the ward and Dunstan Hospital and people from the entire region, including Queenstown, used the hospital for CT scans, specialist appointments and chemotherapy treatments, he said.
The submissions are being considered this week.
