Queen­stown Lakes Dis­trict Coun­cil prop­erty con­sul­tant Jo Con­roy has rec­om­mended a 800-squareme­tre ground lease for a $1 mil­lion wa­ter sports build­ing in Roys Bay should be ap­proved.

The Wanaka Com­mu­nity Board will con­sider the Wanaka Wa­ter­sports Fa­cil­ity Trust’s ap­pli­ca­tion at its 10am meet­ing at the Lake Wanaka Cen­tre to­day.

Con­roy rec­om­mends the 33-year ground lease over lake front recre­ation re­serve be sub­ject to the trust ob­tain­ing re­source and build­ing con­sents and fin­ish­ing the 435sqm row­ing boat shed within three years.

Another pro­posed con­di­tion is that the trust and the coun­cil must reach an agree­ment about main­tain­ing the build­ing and land­scap­ing the re­main­der of the leased area.
