Action needed so that costs won’t escalate
Queenstown Lakes District Council property consultant Jo Conroy has recommended a 800-squaremetre ground lease for a $1 million water sports building in Roys Bay should be approved.
The Wanaka Community Board will consider the Wanaka Watersports Facility Trust’s application at its 10am meeting at the Lake Wanaka Centre today.
Conroy recommends the 33-year ground lease over lake front recreation reserve be subject to the trust obtaining resource and building consents and finishing the 435sqm rowing boat shed within three years.
Another proposed condition is that the trust and the council must reach an agreement about maintaining the building and landscaping the remainder of the leased area.
