These ac­tiv­i­ties and groups are of­ten put to­gether by other mem­bers of the com­mu­nity and can lead to new friend­ships and new­found hob­bies.

Probus 14

Probus 14 meets at the Angli­can Church Hall, Shan­non St, on the first Thurs­day of the month. This is a mixed group where new­com­ers are welcome. Dur­ing the meet­ings which be­gin at 9.45am dur­ing the win­ter months, you can ex­pect to hear a mem­ber give a short pro­file of their life. You can also pur­chase raf­fle tick­ets for 10 prizes ev­ery month. Guest speak­ers of­ten at­tend and amaz­ing sto­ries are told. There is a small an­nual sub­scrip­tion.

Probus Club of Alexan­dra and Dis­tricts

This is a group that meets in the Lounge of the RSA at 10am on the first Tues­day of ev­ery month.

Queen­stown Altrusa

Queen­stown Altrusa meet on the first and third Wed­nes­day of each month. This is a group for like­minded women of all ages who fundraise and en­joy so­cial events to­gether. Meet at the Se­nior Cit­i­zens Rooms, 10 Me­mo­rial St from 5.30pm.

Queen­stown Bridge Club

If you en­joy Bridge, then you will love the Queen­stown Bridge Club. Games of bridge will be held on Tues­day from 7-11 and 11am-3pm at the Events Cen­tre.

For sin­gle res­i­dents over 50 who live alone. This is a great op­por­tu­nity to get out of the house and mix with other sin­gles.

Vol­un­teer vis­it­ing
