Experienced provider expands
Wanaka Retirement Village residents enjoy its perfect position on the flat near the lake and town.
Work begins on stage one of the Aspiring enliven Care Centre in Wanaka next month.
A partnership between Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) and Aspiring Lifestyle Retirement Village, the new three-stage $15 million care centre adjacent to the Wanaka Medical Centre will more than triple the number of aged care rooms in the area.
Stage one includes a 20 room dementia facility, the first time residential care for those with dementia has been offered in the region.
Along with 19 rest home/ hospital rooms, there will also be the Upper Clutha Hospice Trust suite. The care centre expects to employ 35-40 staff, from registered nurses to caregivers and support staff, when stage one is opened later next year. In Alexandra PSO plans to add a further four new units to Ranui Court Retirement Village. The units, each two-bedroom, will front Tarbert St on the north side of the current village site. Tenders are expected to be called later in the year. These plans will be shown to the community during a public meeting held in conjunction with the Retirement Villages Association New Zealand in Alexandra on Thursday August 20.
