Stand­out act: Jody Direen

Satur­day in the Park will have many ex­cit­ing events and ac­tiv­i­ties, and adding to the vi­brant at­mos­phere is Jody Direen.

Jody, a coun­try-pop-rock artist hail­ing from Wanaka, has made a sig­nif­i­cant im­pact on the lo­cal mu­sic scene.

Gifted with a pow­er­ful stage pres­ence, song writ­ing skills and a breath-tak­ing voice, she has gar­nered a loyal fol­low­ing in both New Zealand and Aus­tralia.

Jody’s sin­gle ‘To­gether’ was re­leased in April of this year and topped the NZ iTunes Coun­try Chart, as well as mak­ing an ap­pear­ance at the num­ber eight spot in the Pop Chart.

‘‘Jody Direen Breaks Out’’ topped the iTunes Coun­try Al­bum Chart and peaked at 10 across all gen­res.

It also made its de­but at num­ber 12 in the Of­fi­cial NZ TOP 20 (Na­tional) and made the Of­fi­cial TOP 40 (In­ter­na­tional).

With ap­pear­ances on NZ’s ‘Good Morn­ing Show’ and ‘The Paul Henry Show’ Jody is es­tab­lish­ing a solid fan base through­out New Zealand.

She re­cently sup­ported Kenny Rogers on his tour of New Zealand and per­formed just af­ter Grammy award win­ning Kasey Mus­graves at CMC Rock’s Queens­land to a 10,000 strong crowd. Re­cent ac­co­lades in­clude a CMC Awards nom­i­na­tion for New Oz Artist of the Year, be­ing named the CMANZ 2016 Fe­male Artist of the Year and is now signed to ma­jor record la­bel ABC MU­SIC.
