do­ing the CELTA course was one of the best de­ci­sions she has ever made.

‘‘Af­ter talk­ing with other re­cent CELTA grad­u­ates, I quickly came to the con­clu­sion that CELTA was an in­ten­sive, de­mand­ing and chal­leng­ing course, but I chose to do it any­way be­cause all who have done it have re­marked at how much con­fi­dence it leaves you with to teach a class on your own. When I fin­ished the course I jumped straight into full-time teach­ing.

‘‘The course gives you ex­pe­ri­ence at teach­ing two very dif­fer­ent lev­els of stu­dents. The tu­tors are really help­ful and will hap­pily go out of their way to as­sist you, but also al­low you to be­come more in­de­pen­dent. The high­light of this course for me, was the team­work that our class had. CELTA will be hard work, but if you work with your class­mates and learn from each other, it will be a much more pleas­ant jour­ney to­wards be­com­ing a teacher! Not to men­tion, it’s an in­ter­na­tion­ally recog­nised qual­i­fi­ca­tion, and thus it will definitely open up many op­por­tu­ni­ties both here in New Zealand and
