Lauder Ukulele Fes­ti­val or­gan­is­ers (from left to right):

Breen Con­struc­tion is proud to present the Lauder Ukulele Fes­ti­val of 2016 to be held on the Vil­lage Green be­side the Lauder Ho­tel.

The Fes­ti­val starts with the Bike It Now Early­bird Jam at the Lauder Pub on the evening of Fe­bru­ary 5 and it’s sure to be a week­end to be en­joyed by all.

Satur­day morn­ing, Fe­bru­ary 6, kicks off with work­shops, con­tin­ues with the She­bikeshe­bikes Big Sing (made up of all at­tend­ing ukulele play­ers singing to­gether from 3pm-5pm) and ends with a ‘‘black­board jam’’ in the evening when in­di­vid­u­als and small groups will per­form.

There will be work­shops, lots of mar­ket stalls, a free ukulele con­cert on Sun­day and, lastly, a fes­ti­val wrap up on Mon­day morn­ing with a Re­cov­ery Jam and Brunch at the Lauder Ho­tel.

The par­tic­i­pants will at­tend a wide range of work­shops cov­er­ing such top­ics as Own­ing the Stage, In­tro­duc­tion to Bass, Pick­ing Pat­terns, Ukulele for Rook­ies, Car­ing for your Ukulele and Silly Songs to bring hu­mour into your life.

If you’re ex­cited to hear the ukule­les in ac­tion, there will be a range of per­for­mances on the main stage on Sun­day to ap­peal to all.

Per­form­ers will be vis­it­ing from Christchurch, Dunedin, Alexandra, In­ver­cargill, Wanaka, Geral­dine and fur­ther afield, and are must-sees on the stage.
