Keep fit and well by living your life to the fullest

Central Otago Mirror - - FRONT PAGE -

In today’s day and age, it is more common to travel the world in your early-20s and experience different cultures in different countries. But in days gone by, your early-20s consisted of a baby on your hip, a ring on your finger and a washing basket in your hands. You married young and a family was soon to follow. Many years have passed, the children have left home and you still never got to experience an overseas trip like all the young people you seem to be surrounded by. You may throw around excuses such as ‘‘I’m too old now’’ or ‘‘I don’t want to blow our savings’’ but you only live once, and now is the perfect time to be living life to the fullest. With money behind you, the waiting can finally stop and you can book those tickets to visit beautiful places worldwide because you can! All of those years saving up the holiday pay for ‘‘emergencies’’ and dreaming of squishing your toes in hot sand can stop, and you can get underway with your planning. The first thing you need to consider is who you will take with you. Your husband? A group of friends? Or even an organised tour with a travel company? Who you share this amazing experience with makes all the difference but the main thing is that you enjoy yourself. Where you go is right up there in terms of importance too. Think about your abilities. Are you up for adventure? What are you planning on doing while you’re away? If relaxing in the sun comes to mind then an island in the pacific is sure to meet all your needs. Or is it snow you’re after? How does Switzerland sit with you? The places to visit and explore are endless, and there is sure to be one that catches your eye and steals your heart.
