School zone changes to Cromwell have gone ahead after public consultation.

Children from the Bannockburn and Pisa Moorings areas are now zoned for Cromwell Primary School, having formally being zoned for Goldfields Primary School.

Goldfields Primary School principal Sharon Booth said the changes had been negotiated between both schools.

‘‘The growth in Cromwell has been significant so it is about managing that growth so both schools grow equitably.’’

Families currently enrolled with Goldfields from those areas would still be guaranteed a place, as would siblings of those families.

Cromwell Primary School principal Wendy Brooks said the Board of Trustees was pleased the MOE had finally signed off the amendments to the enrolment scheme for Cromwell. The boards had worked together for ‘‘some time’’.

Board of Trustees chairman Shane Livingstone said there was a ‘‘significant’’ number of new students enrolling and both schools by mid-next year would have the same roll number.
