McLean’s Rio race schedule
Wanaka swimmer Hamish McLean starts his week-long Rio campaign just after midnight on Saturday.
His S6 50m freestyle heat is scheduled for 00:46am (New Zealand time) on Sunday, with the final at the more respectable hour of 8.44am.
He will be back in the pool for the 200m IM on Tuesday, September 13. He is ranked 11 in this event.
McLean is a potential finalist in the men’s 400m free, in which he is ranked 7. That race is Wednesday, September 14.
The Mount Aspiring College student wraps his Rio competition on Sunday, September 18, with the 100m individual medley.
Sunday September 11: heat 00.46am; final 08.44am; medal ceremony 9.42am.
Tuesday September 13: heat 02:10am; final 7.39pm; medal ceremony 10.55pm.
Wednesday September 14: heat 00:30am; final 8.30am; medal ceremony 9.24am.
Sunday September 18: heat 00:30am; final 8.30am; medal ceremony 9.12am.
