Lily Max returns

Central Otago Mirror - - WHAT’S ON -

Queenstown author Jane Bloomfield has released the second book in her Lily Max series.

Lily Max: Slope, Style, Fashion takes her exuberant fashion-mad character on an adventure on skis.

The novel, for young readers, follows her 2015 debut Lily Max: Satin Scissors Frock, which was a finalist in the 2015 NZ Children’s and Young Adults Book Awards and has been reprinted four times.

This second adventure takes place in a fictional ski town but draws on many of Bloomfield’s own experiences in the Wakatipu basin, including learning to ski and teaching her own children.

A bit of Europe crept in also, she said.

❚ There will be a signing at Wanaka PaperPlus from 12 to 2pm, on Saturday, which mysteriously involves a miniature pony.

Queenstown business Goddess is closing as rents continue to rise in the CBD.
