Central Otago Mirror - - YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE - Marjorie Cook

My lotto fantasy today is to buy Little Mt Iron in Wanaka.

The 27ha outstanding natural feature is for sale for $1.39 million with Ray White Real Estate.

This sparked an excited chat with friends about what we could do with the wee mountain once we got the soles of our shoes and our bike tyres onto it.

There’s a lot of rabbits to compete with. Would I still have the fat end of today’s ‘‘must win’’ $44 million left to play with after pest control or would I just be pouring my millions down rabbit holes? Who knows.

I’d be charitable with whatever’s left and give to cancer research, palliative care, hungry and shoeless children.

And I’d go on holiday. A 1000km canal trip in France springs to mind. I will bike and my sister will drive the floating hotel.

She doesn’t know it yet but it is the crazy sort of thing she will agree to.

What would you do?
