Air NZ boss to talk
Guest speaker at Shaping Our Future annual general meeting
Big topics will be raised at the Shaping our Future annual general meeting, with the Air New Zealand boss as guest speaker at the Queenstown Memorial Centre on November 21.
The airline’s chief executive, Christopher Luxon, will speak about the local tourism infrastructure as well as the company’s performance strategy.
Shaping our Future executive Anita Golden said Luxon would spark a few major discussions in the community.
‘‘It’s very topical at the moment. Air New Zealand is very much involved in Queenstown, so people would be interested in what he’s got to say.’’
During the meeting the Queenstown transport report and Glenorchy community report will also be analysed.
Members and non-members are welcome to join the annual meeting on Monday, which will involve voting for the steering group members.
‘‘It’s exciting times to be involved,’’ Golden said.
Four members stood down this year, including Jim Boult, who has now a different job as Queenstown Lakes Mayor.
‘‘They are all fantastic. They are busy people, but they have real interest and real passion in this area moving forward,’’ Golden said.
The votes for steering group nominations close at 5pm on November 16, and only registered members can vote.
