Central Otago District Council has engaged engineering and management consulting firm MWH to investigate the future requirements for a wastewater system for Clyde. The work will involve reviewing test data, discussions with businesses in the historic precinct and with the Otago Regional Council, and analysis of growth projections and their implications. The intention is to identify if there is need for a system at Clyde and, if so, when this may be required. It will also look at whether staging is an option, and an initial high level review of treatment options and cost estimates. A budget of $36 million between 2023 and 2027 is in the 2015 Long Term Plan.
