Mousiemoo, 24 The Mall
Frustration at the lack of products available locally for children from new born to teenagers, Laurel Moyle and partner Dave Graham decided to do something about it. Enter, Mousiemoo.
Opened just five weeks ago at 24 The Mall, Cromwell, Mousiemoo is proving popular with the locals.
Laurel says as the mother of a young child and a teenage daughter, she found it difficult to source ecofriendly and age appropriate items locally.
So by default online shopping or travelling out of the area became the go to place to buy anything needed.
‘‘We had been toying with the idea for 12 months, and three months prior to opening, we just thought why not go for it?’’
Mousiemoo stocks clothing for new borns through to size 16, and reusable items such as cloth nappies and glass bottles, decor, Cariboo furniture, giftware and toys.
‘‘We have everything from socks underwear to day wear and sleep wear,’’ says Laurel.
‘‘We cater specifically for our children needs and our clothing is age appropriate, relevant and durable.’’
Laurel and Dave are mindful of where they source their products and a lot are designed in New Zealand by New Zealand designers.
‘‘We are committed 100% to stocking stylish, practical, and sustainable products that are safe for both our kids and planet.,’’ Laurel says.
‘‘This is really important to people. ‘‘A good portion of our clothing is made of either organic cotton and/or bamboo, and traceable New Zealand wool,’’ she says.
‘‘We are quite careful where we source items.’’
Laurel is joined in the shop by Michelle Bruce of Alexandra and local Sarah McKinlay.
Mousiemoo is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm.
They have some fabulous Christmas ideas for those looking for something a little bit special for their child this Christmas and have Clek foonf car seats, suitable from birth to 29 kilograms.
