If it’s wine and food you’re look­ing for dur­ing the sum­mer break, look no fur­ther than Old Cromwell.

The Cromwell Wine and Food Fes­ti­val on Mon­day should not be missed if you’re keen on am­bi­ent lo­cal wine and tasty re­gional food.

Old Cromwell Inc sec­re­tary­trea­surer Bar­bara Em­mitt is ex­pect­ing a crowd of about 800.

Held in the pic­turesque grounds of McNulty House in the Old Cromwell Town His­toric Precinct, the fes­ti­val show­cases dis­tinc­tive pinot noir, pinot gris and other wines from about 30 vine­yards in and around Cromwell. Eater­ies will show­case tra­di­tional and unique foods from around the re­gion in­clud­ing white­bait, paua pat­ties, rab­bit sausages and cheeses.

Lo­cal mu­si­cians will en­sure a laid-back at­mos­phere for you to sit back and en­joy the beau­ti­ful sur­round­ings on the edge of Lake Dun­stan and the ma­jes­tic hills of Cen­tral Otago.

The fes­ti­val runs from 3pm to 8pm with a fee on en­try. It in­cludes a wine glass to use and keep as a re­minder of a great ex­pe­ri­ence. Con­tact: Old Cromwell His­toric Precinct, 71 Mel­more Ter­race, Cromwell, (03) 445 1746.
