Central Otago Mirror - - YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE -

I never make New Year’s resolutions.

It feels like setting yourself up for failure.

The idea of making a promise to myself because it is a specific day of the year just seems wrong to me.

Having said that, I do make resolutions.

They are usually motivated by the need to do or change something and are mostly well thought through and committed to.

I did make a big promise one New Year’s Day on the bank above Lake Hayes when I married my husband. That was very worthy and I’m pleased to say is going very well.

Anyway it is difficult to come up with any ideas for resolutions when all I can think about is Thai green curry. I’ve just had a lovely big bowl and satisfied a craving I’ve been carrying around for several weeks. Yum.

Maybe that will be my resolution for 2017. More Thai green curry. I’ll drink to that.
