River Range 4
Camping on the site has been added to the features of the festival.
A range of music genres will meet when 16 bands line up for the fourth River Range music festival in Cromwell on January 14.
Festival creater and organiser Blair Scoullar said acts from throughout the South Island would range from punk-rock to electro.
‘‘These guy are locals with original music,’’ he said.
Bands will play punk-rock, glamrock, folk, country, electro and drum and bass until about 1.30am.
‘‘We cover everything I think,’’ Scoullar said.
Paul Shipman, Troika, Die!Die! Die! Ragged, Iron Mammoth and Matt Langley will be amongst the ‘‘local talent’’ to perform for the Central Otago crowd.
Last year the festival had a crowd of about 1200 people, and organisers were pleased with the numbers.
‘‘We are happy regardless,’’ Scoullar said.
This year camping on the site has been added to the features of the festival.
Scoular said it would be convenient for people to stay overnight.
He hoped for warm weather ’’with a bit of a breeze’’, but said there was a back-up plan in case of a heavy rain.
The tickets can be purchased at the gate, with music starting at 12pm and the camping ground opening at 10am.
