The family-friendly event will be free for everyone...
To celebrate the end of the market season, Remarkables Market will host an Easter Fun Day on April 15.
A family-friendly event will be free for everyone and will feature crafts, races, egg hunts, entertainment and prizes.
Starting at 9am, the Fun Day kicks off with an Easter Egg Hunt which will continue throughout the day until 2pm.
Queenstown artist Maki Kumiko from The Paint People will be offering free face painting for children from 10am.
Kumiko will also be giving quick Easter Egg painting lessons at 11am and 12pm with brushes and eggs provided.
Parents can join their children in egg and spoon races from 12.30am, with prizes available for every category.
Market manager Sherryn Smith said this year’s Remarkables Easter market would be the biggest Saturday market yet.
‘‘Before the sun’s up my Easter helpers and I will be busy hiding a bumper batch of egg cards around Remarkables Market, which children can then redeem for mini chocolate eggs at our market information stall.
‘‘This past season has certainly been our busiest in terms of stalls and visitors, and we think our expanded children’s play area has played a part in our growing popularity, so we will be further expanding facilities there before we reopen,’’ Smith said.
