Book fair bonanza
Titles on offer for all ages and genres at the school’s annual book fair...
St Joseph’s School is gearing up for a Book Fair with plenty of bargains and family activities.
School principal Trisch Inder said there would books for all ages and genres at the annual fair on May 21.
This year fair-goers will be able to buy bags of books for between $3 and $10.
School spokesman Piet Van Asch, 12, said to fill a bag with books was a good bargain.
‘‘We started slowly experimenting and hopefully it works out,’’ he said.
Students and parents were putting hard work into the annual book fair.
Last year the school raised $26,000 during the book fair event, and is aiming to meet or beat the amount this time.
‘‘What we use it for is to make sure the children have resources,’’ Inder said.
A sausage sizzle, baking, activities and entertainment will be on offer at the school event.
Water balloon chaos, a winning wheel, and a haunted house were among students’ favourite stalls at the fair, Van Asch said.
‘‘The haunted house is utterly amazing, everyone comes to it,’’ he said.
Some children will dress up as book characters for the fair.
Inder said rain or shine, the fair will go ahead.
