A Queenstown home with stunning lake and mountain views has taken out this year’s Supreme Award in the Southern Registered Master Builders 2017 House of the Year competition, announced on July 15.

The home, built by Trinity QT Construction, also won a Gold Award and category win for the New Home over $2 million Award.

The judges said the ‘‘impressive home offers a wonderful flow, commencing when you first step into the entry foyer past the wine cellar.

‘‘Spacious glazed corridors lead you onto hidden courtyards and through to a majestic living room.’’

The judges said the extensive use of dark oak tongue and grooved timber wall panelling, timber flooring and basalt stone gives the spaces a sense of warmth and material quality.

‘‘This home is beautifully crafted and one that the builder can be extremely proud to have created for the owners.’’

The results of the regional competition were revealed at a swanky dinner on Saturday night at the Skyline Restaurant.

There were 24 Gold Award winners from the Southern region that will now be judged against Gold Award winners from around the country to find the National Gold Reserve finalists, on November 25, in Auckland.

Trinity QT Construction took out the 2017 Supreme House of the Year award at the Southern Registered Master Builders finals on the weekened.
