Comedians in town

Audiences warned to be ready for ‘‘a comedy cavity search’’...

Central Otago Mirror - - FOOD FOR THOUGHT -

Queenstown and Wanaka are in for a laugh with top Kiwi comedians stopping for two shows.

Paul Ego and Wilson Dixon are travelling the South Island sharing their funniest jokes.

Event organiser Jade Gillies said tickets for the tour were selling out fast.

‘‘People love Paul’s hilarious observations of everyday life, which make him a crowd favourite, while Wilson’s wry country music comedy is perfectly suited for our audiences,’’ she said.

A Kiwi comedy veteran and regular on Seven Days, Ego is known as a master of improvisation.

‘‘Yes, there are more cocktails up here, and even the ones without tails.

‘‘But I think we all know that the heart of New Zealand beats strongest in the South,’’ he said.

‘‘I can’t wait to help open the facial laugh holes of many of the fine people of the big island.

‘‘I hope they’re ready for a comedy cavity search.’’

From Cripple Creek, Colorado, country musician Dixon’s philosophies on life have seen him become one of the most loved characters on the Australian, UK and New Zealand circuit.

Stand up comic Terry Frisby will be joining the two on the tour as an MC.
