Continue growing what we have begun

Central Otago Mirror - - CONVERSATIONS -

money for tourism infrastructure, like the $691,508 for new toilets and rubbish facilities at places like Makarora, Tarras, Cromwell and Lake Dunstan, and $100 million more to come.

I want businesses to continue to thrive, like the 255 new enterprises that have created 1000 new jobs in Wanaka in the three years to 2016, with the latest expansion of ultra-fast broadband across Central Otago encouraging more economic growth.

I want farmers to grow their businesses and not worry about new water taxes, instead focusing on irrigation projects like the $815,000 Government grant for the Manuherikia Water Project.

I want local communities to feel safer, with Wanaka and Alexandra gaining 24 hour, seven day a week policing within four years.

I’m proud of the work I have done for Wanaka around Easter Sunday trading laws, the 1000 worker extension for Central Otago’s Recognised Seasonal Employment Scheme and the new $15 million Regional Research Institute at Alexandra.

I want to use my experience to ensure the people of this region continue to get ahead.

Central Otago is making great progress.

Let’s keep the momentum going.
