Cardrona business ‘class act’
Cardrona Alpine Resort has won Wanaka’s supreme business award and tourism award for 2017.
The Ignite Wanaka (Chamber of Commerce) Business Awards were presented at Rippon Hall on November 10 before 200 people.
The independent awards panel was Bill Day (convenor), Anne Urlwin, Mark Verbiest, Giselle McLachlan and Wayne Hudson.
All finalists demonstrated business excellence but Cardrona offered a ‘‘class act’’, Day said.
‘‘Most local companies are experiencing 20 per cent growth but some are leveraging opportunities into even greater growth.
‘‘People are choosing clever ways of doing things differently, which indicates that our business community really punches above its weight,’’ he said.
The business awards were launched in 2016. From now, they will be held every two years. The next awards will be in November 2019.
