A just released report shows a significant increase in the economic impact and satisfaction ratings for this year’s Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow.

The airshow celebrated its 30th anniversary from March 30 - April 1.

Research First Ltd surveyed 1239 respondents to compile the economic impact report. Data was accurate to plus or minus 2.8 per cent.

Airshow general manager Ed Taylor said the airshow trust was thrilled with the results, which showed event visitors spent almost $24 million, up about $4 million from 2016.

The overall positive rating for the airshow was 97 per cent, up from 90 per cent.

‘‘We’re especially pleased with the high satisfaction levels. This is something our whole team works so hard on. Making sure that the flying displays are world-class but also that everything else about the airshow, right down to the toilet facilities, are top-notch,’’ Taylor said.
