Award tick­ets on sale

Tick­ets for the 2018 CHB Mail Cen­tral Hawke’s Bay Sports Awards have gone on sale.

For­mer Black Fern and well-known sports jour­nal­ist Melodie Robin­son, who has won two world cups with the na­tional side, will be the guest speaker on the night.

Robin­son played in two suc­cess­ful World Cup cam­paigns with the Black Ferns. The for­mer loose for­ward played 18 tests be­tween 1996 to 2002 be­fore mov­ing into sports jour­nal­ism and pre­sent­ing. Now a reg­u­lar on SKY Sports, Robin­son is a host of Su­per Rugby and Mitre10 Cup build ups, hosts the ANZ Cham­pi­onship and in­ter­na­tional net­ball build ups, and pro­vides a key in­sight into the grow­ing women’s game.

Nicki Here­maia, Sport Hawke’s Bay com­mu­nity sport de­vel­op­ment of­fi­cer for Cen­tral Hawke’s Bay, says, “The CHB Mail Cen­tral Hawke’s Bay Sports Awards con­tinue to recog­nise the out­stand­ing achieve­ments of Cen­tral Hawke’s Bay ath­letes, coaches and of­fi­cials.

“We have so many amaz­ing ath­letes and ad­min­is­tra­tors from CHB that make a dif­fer­ence in our com­mu­nity. The awards are a chance for the sport­ing sec­tor to come to­gether and recog­nise all that make sport great in CHB from grass­roots through to elite level. It’s a great, af­ford­able night out to cel­e­brate our com­mu­nity’s suc­cess.”

Tick­ets for the event are $50 which in­cludes a three-course buf­fet meal, guest speaker and en­ter­tain­ment.

This year’s cel­e­bra­tion will take place at the AW Par­sons In­door Com­plex on Fri­day, Novem­ber 2 be­gin­ning at 7pm.

Tick­ets are on sale Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 1 through to Oc­to­ber 26. Tick­ets can be booked and paid for on­line at www.sporth­ or via eft­pos from the AW Par­sons In­door Pool Re­cep­tion.
