Chilly day out
There was a chill breeze coming off the ranges but that didn’t deter trainers or punters who turned out to support the Waipukurau Jockey Club meeting last Thursday.
It was another great day of racing, said Waipukurau trainer Kirsty Lawrence, with a good oncourse turnout. Highlights were a win for Chelsea Burdan in her first race ride — giving her fond memories of the Waipukurau course, while Jason Waddell returned to the course for the first time out of apprenticeship and notched up three wins for three rides.
Many decided the stand was the best spot to watch the action, away from the chilly breeze.
